FHB Audio Dante Solution Introduce.

Dante digital audio transmission technology is an audio transmission technology based on a three-layer network, which provides a low-latency, high-precision and low-cost solution for point-to-point audio connections.


Dante technology can transmit high-precision constant signal and professional audio signal on Ethernet (100M or 1000M), and can perform complex routing. Compared with the traditional audio transmission technology, it inherits all the advantages of CobraNet and EtherSound, such as uncompressed digital audio signal, which ensures good sound quality; it solves the complicated wiring problem in traditional audio transmission and reduces the cost.


At the same time, it has its own unique advantages:

1) Shorter latency, the Dante system can automatically adjust the available network bandwidth to minimize latency.

2) The IEEE1588 precision clock protocol is used for clock synchronization.

3) The Zeroconf (Zero Configuration Networking) protocol is adopted, and the automatic configuration server is used to automatically check interface devices, identification labels, and partition IP addresses, etc., without starting high-level DNS or DHCP services, and saving complicated manual network configuration.

4) High compatibility of the network. Dante technology can allow audio signals, control data and other irrelevant data streams to be shared in the same network without interference, and users can maximize the use of existing networks without rebuilding a dedicated network for the audio system.

5) Self-healing system. In order to avoid audio transmission interruption caused by accident, the Dante system can set multiple self-healing mechanisms, such as clock loss, network failure, etc.

6) The transmission mode of the audio channel can be unicast or multicast. Dante technology can be managed through IGMP (Internet Group Message Protocol), which can filter or block broadcast audio channels according to the needs of the receiving point, which makes the routing of multicast audio controllable.

7) All routing of Dante is done through Dante Controller software.


The following are the basic components of a Dante audio system:

The simplest Dante audio system only needs a Dante microphone, a Dante PoE speaker, and they are connected into a minimal system through a PoE switch. Of course, it is also necessary to route and connect the microphone and speakers through the PC software.


According to the number of network ports of the switch, multiple Dante microphones or speakers can be added to this minimal system, and one microphone can be routed to multiple speakers in the management software. But this system can't support multiple microphone mix output to one speaker. If there is such a demand, an audio processor needs to be connected to the system for matrix mixing. As shown below
