Dante digital audio transmission technology and its application
In recent years, the analog method of long-distance audio transmission has become increasingly susceptible to noise interference, complex wiring, and single-line single-channel transmission, resulting in high maintenance costs. In this context, digital audio technology has rapidly become popular. Among them, Dante technology based on IP three-layer network has provided a revolutionary solution for audio transmission with its low latency, high precision and low cost. Taking the FHBAUDIO Dante intelligent conference system as an example, this technology significantly simplifies the wiring architecture and perfectly adapts to existing network facilities.
Dante technology realizes multi-channel digital audio transmission through Ethernet (100M/1000M) and supports flexible routing configuration. Compared with traditional transmission solutions, it inherits the advantages of CobraNet and EtherSound uncompressed audio transmission and has achieved a number of breakthrough innovations:
2. Precision clock synchronization: IEEE1588 protocol is used to ensure timing accuracy
3. Zero configuration deployment: automatic device discovery and IP allocation based on zeroconf protocol, without DHCP/DNS service
4. Multi-service bearing: support audio, control and other data streams to be transmitted on the same network, without the need for a dedicated network
5. High reliability design: equipped with fault recovery mechanisms such as clock redundancy and network self-healing
6. Flexible transmission mode: supports multiple transmission modes such as unicast/multicast
This technology realizes bidirectional multi-channel transmission through a single network cable, and its sub-millisecond delay and precise synchronization characteristics can meet the most stringent requirements of the sound system. As the industry's first AoIP solution completely based on IP three-layer protocol, Dante is not only perfectly compatible with existing IT equipment, but can also smoothly evolve to AVB/TSN standards through firmware upgrades.
Currently, Dante has been widely used in professional audio, broadcasting, conference systems, smart buildings, sports events and other fields. It has redefined the audio transmission standard through IP architecture, automated operation and maintenance, and forward-looking design. The technology has successfully integrated professional audio systems into IT infrastructure, and has continued to innovate in real-time, reliability and scalability, establishing its status as a de facto standard in the AoIP field.
